Bellefontaine Intermediate School held its annual spelling bee on Tuesday.
30 fifth-graders competed in the bee, which was held in the gym.
Fellow fifth-graders along with family members were spectators.
In the 14th round, Garrett Gossard correctly spelled “termite” to become the champion.
Natalee Kuhns was runner-up.
Both students have qualified for the Logan County Spelling Bee at the Holland Theatre on January 16th at 6 p.m.
Gossard will also take an online spelling and vocabulary test in February to advance toward the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
Garrett is the son of Justin & Sarah Gossard.
Natalee is the daughter of Nichole Kuhns.
Lindy Martin was the moderator at BIS.
Angie Horvath and Katie Davis were the judges.
